Leuchars & Sons was a highly prestigious luxury British makers of fine-silver mounted goods; founded in 1794 by James Leuchars, the business earned several Royal Warrants before being acquired by Asprey in 1888.
What makes this piece even more desirable is that it bears the sponsor mark of Jane Brownett, a skilled female London Soho silversmith. The widow of Abraham Brownett, the Brownett family lineage reflects a long line of skilled silversmiths in Soho, London.
