Limited edition Elizabeth II sterling silver plate in original case, 75th anniversary of Queen Victoria’s diamond jubilee

A beautiful Elizabeth II sterling silver plate in original case with marks for London, 1972,  Roberts & Dore Ltd.

This beautiful limited edition plate was issued to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Queen Victoria’s diamond jubilee. It depicts Britannia ruling the waves with British naval scene in background with portrait medallion of Queen Victoria to the right. Here we see the etched signature of the artist John Spencer Churchill to the bottom left of plate, who was nephew of Prime Minister Winston Churchill.

A very finely made and collectible piece, this is number 1399 out of 1700 plates that were produced.

Measurements: Diameter 19cm, 214.5 grams.

Plate in excellent vintage condition, light wear overall commensurate with age. Marks crisp and well-struck. Case in fair condition.
