Antique Victorian sterling silver and timber photo frame

Elegant and timeless round sterling silver and timber Victorian photo frame with marks for Chester, 1900, Stokes & Ireland Ltd. A partnership between William Henry Stokes and Arthur George Ireland that was active from 1891 to 1939, whose premises were on Great Hampton Street, Birmingham. Marked to the top for Hardy Brothers in Sydney and Brisbane, where it would have been retailed during that period.

The solid timber base and legs are nicely-grained with beautiful patina.

Measurements: 13.2cm diameter.. 55.4 grams silver weight.

Excellent antique condition with minor wear overall commensurate with age. Marks crisp and well-struck.
