A rare and curious George III hand-raised sterling silver wine strainer, with partial marks for London 1762, no makers maker. This would originally have been part of a set up where the wine would be poured through a funnel into the strainer to remove impurities. The collar would have held a piece of muslin in place as part of the straining process, and it is rare to find the original collar with strainer as a set.
Beautifully crafted, the bowl is hand-raised as can be seen by the lightly planished interior while the collar is well-fitting with beautiful border detail and pierced details.

Measurements: 7.5 bowl diameter, 3.5cm high. 70 grams total weight.
Excellent antique condition with slight wear commensurate with age.
