A beautiful antique .850 purity Chinese export silver parasol handle by Hung Chong, Shanghai, circa mid to late 19th century.

Hung Chong was an important retail silversmith in Shanghai active from 1830 to 1925, and was excellent at grasping Victorian tastes as exemplified by this elegant handle featuring a repousse dragon motif to the front of the handle and engraved dragon motif to the top.

Measurements: 22cm length, 100grams (handle possibly weighted).

Minor blemishes and wear commensurate with age, otherwise good antique condition. Marks clear and legible.
