Near antique 1930s Chinese export silver 1893 8 reales coin trinket dish

A lovely near antique Chinese export silver trinket dish, set in the base with a 1893 Mexican 8 reales silver coin from the Zacatecas Mint (1812-1905). Set in sterling silver dish, circa 1910s to 1930s.

These came from the estate of Supt. J.F. Lovell, who served in the Shanghai Municipal Force during 1914 to 1939. His remarkable life and career will be the subject of an upcoming article in Antiques to Vintage Magazine.

Price marked at $600 AUD.

Measuremets: 65.7 grams total weight (Coin 27.07grams, setting 38.63 grams). 8.5cm diameter, 1.1cm height.

Condition: Coin lightly rubbed, overall excellent near antique condition with wear commensurate with age.
