George V sterling silver lidded powder bowl, Fred H Adams & Co

Elegant George V sterling silver lidded powder bowl with marks for Birmingham, 1925, Fred H Adams & Co. An elegant design with feathers arranged under convex glass to create an almost floral like design. When opened the lid reveals its mitrrored underside so that a lady might use it to examine her face while dipping hers swansdown puff into her scented powder. The body is made of cut glass, with starburst pattern to base.              

One can almost imagine the scent of violets from bygone days when admiring this charming piece.

Minor dimples as pictured to base of lid, minor chips to top of glass which do not affect use; wear that comes from a century of use. Otherwise good antique condition with minor wear overall commensurate with age.
