Antique Victorian silver-plated travelling communion set

A beautiful antique mid to late 19th century silver-plated travelling communion set, engraved with inscription “From the Choir of St John’s, Sheep Lane” circa 1860s to 1890s. Saint John’s Church-School in  Sheep Lane, Bedfordshire was opened around 1858, and closed sometime in the 20th century. In its original case, this is a charming piece of English ecclesiastical history.

The communion cup is cleverly built to be dismantled and carried within the case for convenience, with the communion dish fitting neatly underneath.
