Beautiful antique George III sterling silver chalice, with marks for London, 1809, Robert Hennell I & Samuel Hennell.

Of substantial size with fluted body and pedestal base, this was made by Robert Hennell I in partnership with his son Samuel, the former being one of the most highly-regarded and prolific silversmiths of the Regency period.

The Hennell silversmithing dynasty was founded in 1725 and remains active today with premises on Bond Street, London under the name Frazer & Haws and Hennells.

Measurements: 254.4 grams. 16cm height, 8.5cm opening diameter.

Excellent condition with minor wear overall commensurate with age. Marks crisp and well-struck.
