We’ve saved the crowning jewel in our current Gouda collection for last: this stunning pedestal painted in the rare Nova pattern by the Ivora factory, circa 1910-30s. While the Ivora factory produced pottery in the Gouda style circa 1914-1964, its origins can be traced back to the 1630s, making it one of the oldest ceramics manufacturers in Europe. Words fail to do this marvellous piece justice. In excellent condition for its age, it comes apart for easy transport and storage, with the pedestal top, column and base all hand-painted in vibrant jewel tones. The bird motif is in the Nova 30 pattern and extremely rare, while the abstract floral patterns, a distinctive Gouda signature, are brilliantly executed. An extraordinary piece, we have not seen another Gouda piece of this size and pattern.
Price marked at $4000AUD. Height of 69cm. The top measures 21.5cm in diameter, and would nicely fit a pot of 21cm diameter and under. Excellent antique/near antique condition. Light wear overall commensurate with age, but no chips or cracks to note to base and interior rims of each piece.
