Today we have a lovely Victorian beaded footstool. This charming piece has carved feet with brass bearings and a intricate pattern of glass beads. These footstools are more often seen with embroidered or tapestry patterns, so the beads are a lovely and unusual choice. The choice of mingled pink and blue colours, almost Celtic knot-like pattern (suggesting endless unity) and choice of glass beads as opposed to less costly wool or stitchwork indicate this may have been a wedding gift. The colours and geometric pattern juxtapose antique charm with timeless elements. A beautiful piece to display at home. Dimensions: the footstool has a diameter of approximately 30cm and measures 16 cm height. Condition: In good antique condition considering it has seen over one century. Wear and several chips to base. One crack which is stable as pictured. Very slight bead loss but minimal visual impact to pattern. Overall still a fantastic display piece. Price is marked with condition and rarity in mind.
