This rare and stunning antique Gouda Dutch Art Pottery cache pot was produced circa 1900-1930s by one of the most significant producer in the region, PZH; otherwise known as Plateelfabriek Zuid Holland.
With semi-matte glaze and a signature Gouda abstract floral Kelat pattern in polychrome enamel, this lovely piece is potentially missing its ceramic covers but its glass liners remain intact.
Gouda pottery and in particular PZH’s rarity only increased after World War I and II, with many factories either destroyed or damaged. They are particularly valued in Australia with Gouda aficionados including former Australian PM Trevor Kennedy.
