Lovely vintage sterling silver ‘corinium’ style spoons in a set of 6 with their original case. This style of spoon hearkens back to the Roman occupation of Britain, when legionaries would use them to open shellfish and when eating eggs- it was believed that perforating the shells warded off bad luck. Corinium was the second largest Roman town in Britain.
